Why
choose us for your GreenScape?
Fisrt, we are not tree trimmers and we don't
rake leaves. Our Greenscape division includes
NightScapes, WaterScapes, and HardScapes. The
division's sole purpose is to fufill the Landscaping
needs of our customers who expect full
service, attention to detail,
and unprecentedented professionalism. Our customers
expect us to educate them while we design thier
new outdoor environment. They want to know why
a particular species is being designed into
a particuar area or why a Blue Atlas Cedar can't
be planted near the house. We take pride in
what we do and yes we will trim your trees and
we and rake your leaves because when we design
it, then we build it, we will want to take care
of it. Your successful project will get better
as time goes on and we want to nurture your
GreenScape, be responsible for its health, help
it grow, and ensure your ongoing satisfaction.
That's why you choose Garnet & Co!

Our
GreenScapes Process
Step 1:
The owner Ben Hunt will meet
with you at your home and find out what you
like and what you don't like. Things like
colors, textures, sizes, mulch, gravel, ground
cover, etc. will be discussed. What kinds
of trees make you feel a certain way, do you
envision evergreen or deciduous, flowering
or beautiful fall color? This meeting will
help shape the project plan. It will give
us a basis for moving forward, and will likely
dictate the design. During this meeting Ben
will take a lot of pictures and measure the
area(s) to be landscaped.
|
|
| |
Step
2:
Now that we have your input, we will design
a master plan for the property even if you are
not sure you want to do the entire project all
at once. This way, and when all phases are complete,
everything flows together, works and flows seemlessly
and has the balance we started out to create.
This is helpful even if you dont plan to do
the entire project all at once. Most customers
want to phase the project so to help them fit
it in the budget.
|
|
| |
Step
3:
When the plan is complete. Ben will visit with
you again to go over all the details and get
your feedback. At that time, we can hit the
drawing board again to make some changes or
we can provide an estimate based on the first
drawing.
|
|
| |
Step
4:
Once your ready to begin, we will prepare all
the planting areas and apply soil ammendments,
Trees and shrubs will be delivered on site and
staged in designated areas according to the Master
Plan. All trees and shrubs will be individually
hand picked and staged on site. When the placement
and product is visually approved by client, it
is then ready to be sewn in. We do require this
additional "staging" from the client
because what looks good on paper doesn't always
look good after planting.
|
|
| |
Step
5:
Planting begins. Ben will be on site every step
of the way to ensure proper planting procedure.
All container plants will have their roots cut
to stop bound roots that can choke the plant out.
We then dig holes with labor saving machinery
to ensure labor efficiency. All plants and trees
will be treated with plant health care products
such as mychorizah, a bacterium that promotes
a healthy root system and reduces stress brought
on through the planting process..
|
|
| |
Step
6:
The final step is the icing on the cake! Whether
it be decorative gravel, mulch, or groundcover.
If the choice is decorative gravel we will install
a breathable landscape fabric. If it is mulch,
we use non-floating double ground oak bark mulch
without landscape fabric that will decompose and
continue to nurture the soil with organic matter.
We then treat all beds with a pre-emergent to
discourage weed growth.
Groundcovers are also a good choice. Many varieties
are flowering, fragrant and add interest to the
landscape.
|
|
| |
Step
7:
Were almost finished! We will then make an appointment
with you to walk the property together. This is
where we discuss the project, point out areas
which will need extra attention, answer your questions
and ensure you are 100% satisfied.
